EDBA3...@erols.com>... Too often, when I try to install some software, nothing seems to happen. When I check Event Viewer, I see that NTVDM.EXE is using between 94% and 98% of memory. And, of course, the software doesn't install. I find it necessary to end the NTVDM.EXE process. Does anyone have a suggestion?

correct version of NTVDM.exe in NT 4.0 SP6a
Can anyone tell me where I can download the latest Ntvdm.exe. Such a file is discribed in the Knowdlebase files but no like is provided. I am running a 16 bit Foxpro base programed an contine to ge the message "ntvdm.exe has caused errors and the program will be closed". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks David.

We started a big transaction with our program; in the beginning, ntvdm were using about 5'000 kb and 4 hours later, it's using 28'000 kb. The system is very slow. How to terminate ntvdm.exe?
Windows 2000 Pro works ok but I'm seeing a strange thing happen with a file called NTVDM.exe. Microsoft says this is the Virtual Dos Machine application that runs legacy apps in 16-bit. It works with another process called WOW. In TASKMANAGER I notice when I start Windows I see NTVDM.exe is using 95-98% of the CPU.
