Betriebssystem ntvdm.exe - odd program?
When I want to run a program, NTVDM eats up the rest of my CPU time and keeps it 100%. I know that Benny D. Miller Jr. reported problems with NTVDM as well but I did not read any response (17/01/1999 17:53). Perhaps he or someone else can help me and Sam out. Hello All Can anybody tell me what NTVDM.EXE is - what

You also see wowexec.exe (the Windows on Windows subsystem), and the executable name of each 16-bit program that is running in that WOW virtual machine. As a helpful visual aid,

Big problem ntvdm.exe eating all CPU capacity
Everytime I run a command line, which runs an MSDOS batch file, the process NTVDM.EXE starts up and uses considerable memory resources. The batch file imports data into an MSAccess 2.0 file and everytime I run it, it adds another NTVDM.EXE process (doesn't use the existing one). I have tried to remove the process'

16bit dos - Are individual settings Possible?
The performance monitor only lists the 32-bit applications, and all the 16-bit applications are treated as threads of the ntvdm.exe process (which is 32-bit app). I wonder if there is any way to list all the threads running in ntvdm.exe? Thanks ahead! Snow.

NTVDM.EXE
Former NTVDM.EXE is on desk top and was replaced with another in System 32. Properties of both are identical, eg., ver.5.1.2600.2180, Modified 08/04/2004. I note that I can run the program if I do not close the NTVDM.EXE notice and note further that somewhere in my computer I have saved a newer version of it.

NTVDM.EXE 100% CPU?!
NTVDM.EXE is using 99 % CPU time (3596K memory), even though no 16 bit applications are running (apart from wowexec.exe 0% cpu time). The 16 bit apps run very slow (slower than a DX2 at 66mhz). Any thoughts why and any fixes? Thanks. Tip 1227 at my 'NT Reg Hacks' at http://www.jsiinc.com Jerold Schulman / MVP JSI,

NTVDM.EXE Problems.
All can run just fine for approx 2-3 days, then all of a sudden the "ntvdm.exe" process raises the CPU to 99% for just one user and the whole server goes dead slow of corse, if I just kill that process all runs fine again for another 2-3 days, and then it happens all over again but not neccesarly for the same user.

NTVDM.exe is using 95-98% of the CPU.
